The American company SpaceX has filed a lawsuit against the Ukrainian company Starlink. She demands to terminate the rights to the trademark, the name of which coincides with the Ukrainian “daughter” company. This follows from the database of the Kyiv court.
Starlink Ukraine LLC was registered in February 2011. The eponymous “daughter” of Starlink was registered in Ukraine in April 2022. “We are not to blame for choosing such a name. By the way, long before Starlink itself appeared,” said Sergey Dulitsky, founder of Starlink LLC, in an interview with Dev.ua.
The preparatory hearing on the case will be considered by the Kyiv Economic Court on December 1. In case of a positive decision of the court, Ukrpatent will have to make appropriate changes to the register.
